Darth Vader, Leia, & Buds.

I’m pregnant.  I’m pregnant.  I’m pregnant.

I remind Travis of this approximately 892 times per day.

He smiles every time.

It still seems absolutely surreal, though.  I think that’s why I feel the need to say it out loud every 39 seconds.  I’m just trying to make myself believe it’s true.

I feel great, thank goodness.  I’ve been praying that I won’t have any of the icky pregnancy sickness business.  So far, so good.

Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments on my announcement post.  They made it that much more exciting:)

We’re only a week away from finding out just how many sweeties have made themselves at home in my uterus.  My money is on two.  What’s your gut feeling?

Arle will be crushed if it’s not two.  Remember back when I told you how she talked about her brother and sister being on the way?  She’s still convinced of the fact that there are two babies and one’s a boy and the other’s a girl.

She’s already named them, too…Darth Vader and Leia.

I kid you not.

She has a bizarro  Star Wars obsession right now and it obviously played a large role in her name choices.  She’s the girliest tom-boy you’ll ever meet.

She also has developed a strong affection for the Baby Center app on my iPhone.  She loves watching the video that shows how the embryo travels from the tubes to the uterus to hatch and implant.

Yesterday, while I was on the phone with my mom, she was playing with my phone and found a new video.

A video that describes how “front hineys” are formed on boys and girls.

I almost had a heart attack when I realized what she was watching.  I never in a million years dreamed that my phone would be the one to teach her what her front hiney is really called.

It went into all sorts of stuff about how all babies start with a small “bud” and how that bud turns into you know whats on girls and you know whats on boys. {I’m not about to type the real names into this post because the Lord only knows what types of Google ads would pop up on here and I wouldn’t want to make my mother blush.  Plus I don’t say those words.}

Anyway, the only question she had after watching the overly-informative video was, “Mommy, what’s a bud?”

I decided that I needed to be completely honest and straight-forward about it and answered, “I don’t know.”

Then I grounded her from playing with my phone.

Modern techonology may not be all it’s cracked up to be!! Arle sounds like she is very tech savvy!! It’s a little scary to me sometime when almost 3 year old Emerson knows how to operate all those devices on her own!! Hope the lesson was very clear and didn’t scar her for life!! I love you Heather! I don’t like to say those words either!! I am praying for you every day!! Can’t wait to find out if you really are waiting for Darth Vader and Leia!! Love the names Arle!!

Soooo exciting. I like the big sister’s name, the big sister here wanted Shalonda for a girl and Micheal for a boy, glad it was a boy. I spent my whole pregnancy telling people, “NO there is only one baby in there.” I must have been all sorts of bigness!! Now that Mr. Court is here, glad there was only one in there, we spend some great time with each other in the wee hours of the night BUT I love it!! again, I’m sooooo darn excited for you guys, I can hardly stand it.

you know i’m banking on twins.

and also, you know i don’t use the real words either. layne came home from school this year and said, a daddy plants a seed in the mommy and it makes a baby. but HOW DOES THAT WORK?!” yikes…he’s in preschool.

You KNOW you’re gonna have to say the real words sooner or later!!! Especially if there’s one of each. Want K or D to call Arle and tell her all about it?? I can’t tell you how many times the big V and P words have popped out of the mouths of our babes in the most unexpected, sometimes embarrassing, but always hilarious moments!

P.S.- I’m banking on two buns in a double oven! :)

My money is on two boys. Then you can name them Darth Vader and Han Solo, because Han is way better than Luke. ;) BTW Arle MAY NOT marry Jacob! We might end up with grandchildren bearing the above mentioned names. YIKES!
