I Cried. At Pre-School.

Today is Tuesday.

It’s a glorious day.

It’s a pre-school day.

I’ve grown to LOVE pre-school days.

A lot.

Don’t get me wrong.  I love love love my time with Arle and all, but wow, the five and a half hours I have to myself each Tuesday are glorious.

If I ever start feeling guilty about how much I heart pre-school, I just remind myself of how much Arle hearts pre-school.  She would go everyday if I let her.

Never once has she hesitated to walk into that room.

She acts like she owns the place.

This morning was the first morning that I actually hesitated in letting her walk through the door.

As I dropped her off, a little boy in her class was also being dropped off.  He hugged his mom goodbye before he stepped inside the classroom.  But then he immediately turned around with a look of sheer panic on his face and high-tailed it back to his mom and clung to her neck.

Evidently he has really grown to love Mrs. Beth, one of the two teachers in their room.  When he walked into the class he immediately noticed that Mrs. Beth wasn’t there today.  He was starting to really get worked up about the situation and absolutely DID NOT want to go into the room.

That’s when Arle turned to him, held out her hand, and said, “Why don’t we walk in together?”

Without even batting an eye he took her hand and off they went to circle time together.  Leaving his mom and me behind with our teary eyes.

All I wanted to do at that moment was grab my sweet girl, give her a huge hug, tell her how proud I am of her, and never let her go.

The end.
