Two Threes

Today is my birthday.  Arle has been WAY more excited about the coming of this day than I.

I keep telling her that she is one three and I’m two threes.

How can I really be 33?  It’s not that I mind it, it’s just not one of those ages you think about.  You think about 10, 13, 16, 18, 21 and even 30.

But not 33.

It just kind of sneaks up on you while you’re sitting around thinking that you just got out of college. But then I remember that I just had surgery because I have poor circulation in my legs and oh my gosh I should have asked for a Hoveround and an extra pair of compression stockings for my birthday.

Really though, it doesn’t bother me.

I’m actually loving my 30s.  I love where I am in life.  I feel content and I love feeling content.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some difficult things going on here and there, but I’m learning and growing through those things and am grateful for that.

I just dropped Arle off for her first full day of pre-school and am feeling like the world is my oyster…or at least it is until 3pm.

Shall I shop?

Shall I get a pedicure?

Shall I go to lunch with a dear friend?

Shall I drive around in complete and utter silence?

I say yes.

To all of those things.

Happy birthday to me.

Happy Birthday, my sweet Heather!! In my mind YOU should still be one three. How can I possibly be the mother of three kids in their thirties. Shouldn’t I be the one who is two threes? Time goes quickly, more and more, faster and faster…I love you with all my heart.
