Ponytail Police

Evidently, I have not been keeping a close enough watch on this two year old of mine.  At some point this week, she must have been kidnapped by some sort of weirdo religious cult that brainwashed her into thinking women must always wear their hair up.

Arle has been an absolute crazy girl about my hair this week.  If ever I have it down, she demands that I go put it in a ponytail.  She has seriously gotten upset if I tell her I don’t want to put it up.  It’s like we’re having some sort of ponytail stand-off.

Maybe Nick Jr. is sending some sort of cult-ish subliminal messages through the T.V. or something.  Or maybe I’m just walking around all over K.C.  with ugly hair and just haven’t realized it yet and my toddler is trying to save me from embarrassing myself and her.

Or maybe I’ve just become a big slob and rarely fix my hair anymore and Arle is so used to seeing it  in a ponytail that she doesn’t even recognize me when it’s down.

Hmmmmm…..

Jacob HATES it when my hair is up, which is how I wear it most days. He has loved playing with my hair since he was a tiny baby. His favorite way to go to sleep is playing with my hair. I’m not complaining, I love it! He is growing up so fast allowing him to do this is the only way I can get him to cuddle anymore. :( It is only a matter of time before this is up too.

Karis hates it when my hair is in a ponytail (which is very, very often). Even though she does somewhat inspire me to actally put some effort into my hair, I wish Arle would give her a call and tell her ponytails are the way to go!

I have a friend in her 6o’s who has always worn her hair long and pulled up. She told me recently her daughter, who is in her 30’s, had told her a few months ago that she is too old to wear her hair long and that she should stop wearing so much make-up. Get ready, ladies, these days are only beginning. I must say it was a tough day when I heard I couldn’t wear just “any” jeans. Remember momdiggity’s blog about where jeans pockets should be located?
